FAQ: working with us

Your next chapter starts here

Join our team of 95 dedicated professionals making a difference in young lives. Learn about working at Hata Care and how you can help create a sense of home for unaccompanied minors in Ireland.

What qualifications do I need to work at Hata Care?

All staff must complete Garda vetting, provide references, and undergo Children First training. We look for individuals with experience in youth work, social care, or related fields. Most importantly, you'll need empathy, cultural sensitivity, and a commitment to trauma-informed care practices.

What is the Welltree Model of care?

Our Welltree Model is a trauma-informed, attachment-based approach that guides all our work. It emphasizes building healthy relationships, providing unconditional positive regard, and creating therapeutic environments where young people can heal and grow. Full training is provided during onboarding.

What does a typical day look like?

You'll support children with daily routines, life skills development, and educational goals. This includes helping with homework, teaching budgeting and cooking, facilitating group activities, and providing emotional support. Every day brings opportunities to make a real difference in a young person's journey.

How do you ensure staff wellbeing?

Working with traumatized children can be challenging. We provide regular supervision, peer support, and access to our Employee Assistance Program. Our team of 95 members creates a strong support network, and we emphasize self-care as essential to providing quality care.
